Five years after the creation of the Kuskoa Bi collection designed for Alki, our studio developed a lightweight version of the bioplastic chair. A delicate metallic base comes to support the envelopping shell. For this, it was necessary to develop a specific tool for this structure to perfectly fit the shell of the chair. Bronze and oxide finishes have been added to the existing color palette to give a touch of elegance to the set.
We haven’t had the occasion to design many stands or attend many design fairs in the past year. Hoping for these events to be possible again, here’s a review of some of the stands we’ve designed lately.
We were in charge of designing Akaba’s stand for Feria Habitat in Valencia.
Here’s an interview we did for Radio Kultura where we talk about the way we approach design.
The interview begins at minute 10
We recently help design the scenography for an event sealing a collaboration between Alki and OberSurfaces in Saint-Ouen, near Paris.
The idea was to divide the old Marotte workshop into different spaces showcasing Alki’s Alki’s latest collections and OberSurfaces materials.

For Alki’s presence at the Salone del Mobile in Milan we were given the assigment to design a stand with a strong statement. It was a first time for Alki as a solo show at this event and it was a good opportunity to show Alki’s universe in a somewhat different way. The location next to big brands in a new space called S.Project, at Hall 22 was the perfect occasion for that.
To feature our Lan office chair, that we launched at this occasion, we wanted to show a warm and cozy work environment. That brought us to the thinking that our own work environment, the log cabin/studio, could indeed be “transported” to the fair. It was a gesture to our beloved work space, where we’ve designed the Lan chair, a chair directed to casual work environments.
The chairs were around two Heldu office tables. We also brought a bunch of accessories to decorate the interior of the cabin direct from our cabin. We even carried the real wood-burner of the studio.
Next week, we’ll unveil two new products during the Milan Furniture Fair. Watch this space!
Last week attended the event that Sokoa and Gabriel held in Gabriel’s Paris showroom, in beautiful Place de Valois . It showed the collaboration between these two brands and served as the presentation of a new member of the KLIK collection, the brand new tables. Great ambience, so great job to both!
This was the first time Alki attended Orgatec, and for such an event we tried to arrive with a warm proposal for the future work environments. We wanted to give to Alki´s space a very wellcoming feel with references to the stereotypical homes. Three different flooring heights separate three quite diverse environments, that go from a fully workspace-oriented ambience to a lounge and subsequently a dining area.
Xoko and Gune have been our first collaboration with Akaba and we also designed the space in which Akaba was launching several new product. The logic behind the space design was about having an angular offset that made the space both practical and interesting. An extensive work in colour, underlining a contemporary elegance also marks the first step in creating a commonground universe between Akaba’s heritage and Iratzoki Lizaso’s new proposals.
New projects and a new collaboration will be showcased during Orgatec 2018, from the 23rd to 27th of october in Cologne.
