An undulation in the seat

We are normally given a fairly free rein but this time we were engaged in a project with an exacting design brief including numerous technical and economic constraints relating to the product typology: a community-use chair. The design can often be quite unyielding with a fairly disagreeable result.

So we tried to tackle the problem head-on with a soft
approach embracing a quite striking, monochrome outline.
An undulation in the seat allows the chair’s different
functions to be harmoniously integrated.
This little detail enabled us to overcome many hindrances
while simultaneously creating a fully stackable chair.
